This is an interesting audio on research being conducted on autoimmunity and food triggers that should be listened to. The science is still evolving, but the concepts discussed are important to understand what the potential could mean to people in preventing or limitiing the effects of autoimmune disease. My take away is that many problems could potentially originate with the foods that we eat and gut permeability. Additionally, the older we get the more likely that our systems will be compromised/weakened, allowing for more potential sickness.

Loren Cordain, Colorado State University Professor and author of The Paleo Diet explains the biochemistry of why autoimmune diseases ... might [originate or] be made worse by grains, beans, dairy, and in some people, egg whites and tomatoes.
